Welcome to HomeAid Colorado

HomeAid Colorado works with homebuilders to build housing for other nonprofit organizations who serve the homeless. If you are an individual in need of emergency or transitional housing, rent assistance or other housing-related needs, HomeAid regrets your situation. While the organization would like to offer direct assistance, HomeAid does not build or renovate single-family homes for individuals or families. The following is a list of resources that may be helpful to you.

Homeless Resources

Colorado Coalition for the Homeless
Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. CCH advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being and stability of those it serves. For a comprehensive list of resources in Colorado, visit www.coloradocoalition.org.

2-1-1 Hotline Call Center (United Way)
2-1-1 is the national abbreviated dialing code for free access to health and human services information and referral. 2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember and universally recognizable number that makes a critical connection, via referrals, between individuals and families in need and the appropriate community-based organizations and government agencies. For more information, visit www.211colorado.org or call 2-1-1 from any phone.

Home Ownership Assistance

H.O.M.E. Program
Countrywide Financial Corporation (NYSE: CFC) a diversified financial services provider, mortgage and home lending specialist and a member of the S&P 500, launched their Home Ownership Mortgage Education program (H.O.M.E.) in 2007. H.O.M.E. is a comprehensive online reference tool, providing consumers with information on all aspects of home ownership — from basic personal financial services to living as a homeowner. For further details, visit www.HomeByCountrywide.com.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
HUD is the nation's housing agency committed to increasing homeownership, particularly among minorities; creating affordable housing opportunities for low-income Americans; and supporting the homeless, elderly, people with disabilities and people living with AIDS. The Department also promotes economic and community development, and enforces the nation's fair housing laws. To find out about HUD in Colorado, visit www.hud.gov/colorado.

Rebuilding Together
Rebuilding Together is America's largest volunteer-based home-repair organization bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of homeowners in need. There are Colorado chapters in Denver (www.rebuildingtogetherdenver.org) and Colorado Springs (www.rebuildingtogethercoloradosprings.org).

Habitat for Humanity
Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans. Habitat is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor - sweat equity - into building their Habitat house and the houses of others. If your family, or a family you know, is in need of decent, affordable housing, contact the Habitat affiliate nearest you. For a complete listing of Colorado affiliates, visit www.habitatcolorado.org.
