What makes HomeAid Different

HomeAid Colorado is the charity of choice for the Colorado Association of Home Builders.  This allows us to serve as a bridge between the homebuilding community and nonprofit care providers who serve the homeless.  We match builders with charitable projects that fit the scope and size of their work, as well as their charitable interests.  We listen to what care providers need and provide technical assistance to help them navigate the complex world of construction.

All HomeAid projects are built by professional, licensed, insured builders and trades, so the finished product is the same high quality as those homes built for conventional homeowners.  The homes are often part of an established neighborhood and blend into the surrounding community in both their appearance and the care taken to maintain the property.

The units we build fill a gap between emergency housing and affordable housing.  Families who are out of a crisis situation but not ready for affordable housing such as a Habitat for Humanity home often need a transitional period of anywhere from three months to two years to get back on their feet.  The units we build help people through the transition in their lives so they can regain self-sufficiency, graduate into renting or purchasing housing that is affordable for them, and not reenter homelessness.
